Course Title: Modern Satellite Communications

Course Description:
This course provides an introductory exploration of modern satellite communication systems, encompassing theoretical foundations, design principles, and current technological advancements. Students will gain insights into satellite orbits, communication link design, modulation and coding techniques, multiple access methods, and the impact of the space environment on satellite operations. The curriculum also addresses contemporary topics such as high-throughput satellites, low Earth orbit (LEO) constellations, and the integration of satellite systems with terrestrial networks.

Prerequisites:
- Fundamentals of Communication Systems
- Signals and Systems
- Basics on Electromagnetic Theory

Course Objectives:
